Commencing 2022-2023 school year

Teacher Level:  Elementary 

Total FTE: 4.0

 

The Flexible Teacher will provide classroom instruction in multiple classrooms as assigned,for any certified teacher position, including special education, and may also be assigned to cover paraprofessional duties at times. 

 

The Flexible Teacher will be assigned to a primary location but may also receive assignments at other buildings as needed. 

 

Responsibilities:

In the absence of the regular assigned classroom teacher, the flexible teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment.

  • Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher
  • Encourage student progress
  • Supervise and ensure safety of students during classroom hours
  • Maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support student who may be dysregulated
  • Leave feedback and notes for the school staff
  • Assist with non-classroom duties when assigned

 

Qualifications & Expectations:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minnesota Teaching or Substitute License
    • District can provide guidance towards applying for a Short Call Substitute License if you do not have a current teaching license
  • Open to working in a different classroom each school day
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adapts to new environments quickly
  • Models professional experience, attitude, and demeanor
  • Ability to communicate optimally through both oral and written means
  • Willingness to assist with duties beyond original assignment
