Middle School AVID Summer Bridge 6th/7th Math Teacher

Salary:

Pay Information:

• Salary: Prorated percentage of current teacher salary schedule plus local supplement, in addition to any legislative changes which might occur on or after July 1, 2022.

• A full day of summer school employment for certified staff is 6 hours per day 5 days per week which equals 100% of salary. With Friday being a day of no work the prorated percentage as follows:

• Elementary Schools: 7:30 - 2:00  6.50 hours = 87%

• Middle Schools: 8:00 - 3:00  7 hours = 93%

• High Schools: 8:30 - 3:30  7 hours = 93%

Dates of Summer Employment:

Additional Required Teacher Workdays:

• June 22-23: Required planning workdays for staff, attendance required

Dates of Program:  

• July 6-July 28: Teaching days

Daily Hours:

8:30am - 2:30 pm  Monday through Thursday (Student Hours)

8:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday (Staff Hours)

Location:

Culbreth

Phillips students will be housed at Clubreth 

McDougle 

McDougle MS

Smith students will be housed at McDougle

Reports To:

School Site Leader: Assistant Principal and Executive Director of High Schools & Special Programs

Qualifications:

Certified in Secondary Math Education with recent experience teaching grades 6-8.

Classroom Teacher Responsibilities:

• Attend all teacher workdays, student instructional days, and planning days

• Teach a 6th grade math class from 8:30 am to 11:00 am to prepare students for Advanced Math 6 in the fall

• Teach a 7th grade math class from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm to prepare students for Advanced Math 7 in the fall

• Plan instruction aligned to 1st quarter standards and prerequisite skills

• Review formative and summative student data for 2020-2021 school year

• Plan and facilitate whole group, small group and 1:1 lessons

• Utilize Imagine Math in daily synchronous and asynchronous instruction 

• Facilitate daily SEL check-ins

• Facilitate weekly 1:1 student conferences

• Participate in weekly PLCs and staff meetings

• Communicate with parents/guardians regularly

Terms of Employment:

Personal leave, professional leave and sick leave for medical appointments is not permitted during summer employment.  Failure to comply with the attendance policy may result in termination.

Leave earned in 10 month year is not available for use during summer employment

School and/or district personnel will visit the classes occasionally
