RTA CAMP / SUMMER SUCCESS - TEACHERS/SOCIAL WORKERS/COUNSELORS

Job Title:

• Teacher for Read to Achieve / Summer Success Camp  (Grades 1st through 5th 

• EC

• ESL

• School Counselor

Salary:

• Salary: Prorated percentage of current teacher salary schedule plus local supplement, in addition to any legislative changes which might occur on or after July 1, 2022.

• A full day of summer school employment for certified staff is 6 hours per day 5 days per week which equals 100% of salary. With Friday being a day of no work the prorated percentage as follows:

• Elementary Schools: 7:30 - 2:00  6.50 hours = 87%

• Middle Schools: 8:00 - 3:00  7 hours = 93%

• High Schools: 8:30 - 3:30  7 hours = 93%

Dates of Summer Employment:

Dates of Program: June 27, 2022 - July 28, 2022 (Monday-Thursday)

CLOSED on July 4, 2022 

Closed each Friday

Additional Required Teacher Workdays:

• June 22 and 23 for orientation, planning, room set up, etc.

Daily Hours:

7:30-2:00 Monday-Thursday

Location:

Frank Porter Graham Elementary, McDougle Elementary, Northside Elementary and Rashkis Elementary(Specific Schools will be assigned to one of the schools above) 

 Student Hours:  8:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Reports To:

Administrators and Executive Director of Federal and Instructional Programs

Qualifications:

Certified in either Elementary Education, Exceptional Children, ESL, School Counseling or School Social Worker  with recent experience teaching/supporting grades K-5;  for Teachers- Dual certification in Literacy/Reading preferred; experience using IRLA preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Attend all student days and teacher workdays.

• Enter initial and final student data

• Set up and take down the classroom space.

• Plan with PLCs daily and one day a week for extended time. 

• Teach/support whole group and small group lessons. 

• Incorporate SEL content based on Equity Centered Classrooms instruction

• Conduct conferences with each student a minimum of 1x per week. 

• Align work across the PLC.

• Maximize toolkit time by sharing/supporting students across the grade level. 

• Communicate with parents as needed. 

• Work with students to complete a culminating project to be shared on Family Involvement Day at the end of camp. 

• Perform before school and after-school duties as needed. 

• Plan and deliver weekly enrichment opportunities (music, art, dance, coding, project based learning, sports, etc.)

Terms of Employment:

Personal leave, professional leave and sick leave for medical appointments is not permitted during summer employment.  Failure to comply with the attendance policy may result in termination.

 Leave earned in 10 month year is not available for use during summer employment

Evaluation:

Teachers will have a minimum of 2 classroom observations based on the components of the ARC literacy program.
